Soul-Deep: A Journey Back to Egypt
After nearly eight years, I finally returned to my most beautiful, endlessly special, and deeply complicated Egypt.
This wasn’t just a trip—it was a reunion with a version of myself I hadn’t seen in a long time.
It felt like stepping into a memory: familiar, sacred, and a little broken.
Egypt is breathtaking: its magic, its chaos, its depth.
It isn’t just beautiful. It’s soul-deep.
A place so ancient, its streets breathe history.
It makes time feel small.
But for those of us who carry its dust in our lungs and its dreams in our hearts, the visit can be heavy.
And so it was for me.
I saw the cracks. The struggle. The weight of the present.
Yet beneath it all, Egypt still holds a heartbeat like no other,
one that hums with history, resilience, and quiet hope.
There’s something eternal about the land that raised you.
And even when it aches, you carry it like a prayer.
Years ago, I made a quiet promise to the Nile:
That I’d always find my way back.
And so I did.
And so I will.
